Do you have a Dream: 2 + Book Rehab

Okay, I have two combined entries today. I'll start things off with the "Do you have a Dream" entry number 2. I'm still in the process of working on the background information, but I should be finished with it by later tonight. Then I will start on the chapter outlines! The story is coming along well so far, which I am pleased about. I'm thinking that the complete first book may have around 20-25 chapters, but we'll see about that when the time comes to it.

Now onto the next topic: Book rehab.

If there were a book rehab, someone would admit me.

When I was younger, I loved books, but as I grew older, I read them less and moved onto magazines, such as People, Star and so on. In 2011, I decided to get back to my old self and read again. Since then, I have book many books and some of which I haven’t finished yet.

My process is somewhat like this:

·         Go to a bookstore with the intention of buying one book
·         Enter the bookstore
·         There for over one hour or more
·         Browsing
·         Sees an interesting book, and hold onto it as I still walk around
·         Check the language books for Japanese
·         Get ready for check-out with five books in my arms

It’s a serious problem, one that I definitely need to work on, but I'm not a book hoarder like Yomiko from R.O.D.

Yomiko's bedroom. XD
Does anyone else have a bad addiction hard to break? It doesn’t have to be books, it can be anything.

  1. Books, reading, writing, fan fiction, checking out stock photos and Pinterest. Yes I'm a multi-addict but like Amy Winehouse's song I aint going to Rehab. Enjoy your weekend Britt.

    1. There was a time I had an addiction to FanFiction. I still like it, but I noticed I have a hard time finding a good FF to read lately. Haha, funny you mention Amy Winehouse, I was going to post that song along with this entry. XD

  2. Hhaha! I'm like that once I enter a bookstore as well, especially if it is a bargain bookstore! However, aside from that, I've become a K-POP album addict. I went years without ever buying an album, then like ever since I bought and received my first one, I never looked back and have the urge to buy all my favorite releases even if they're more than a little bit unreasonable in price. XD
Awesome progress with writing your book! I'm glad it is coming along nicely for you.^^

    1. XD Well at least it's something that you really like, haha. I'm also like that with anime/manga illustration books. Even thought I've only been to a anime convention twice, when I was in the dealers room, I kept returning to the illustration part. I'm hoping to at least start on the first chapter of my book by the end of this month! Thank you for commenting. :)

  3. Yes, I'm like you. I can't walk into a book store and buy one book, it's always an armful. Congrats on getting your book in top shape.

  4. I love books. That's why I usually hit the library first, so I can return my finds. I'm really enjoying purchasing e-books nowadays, too, because I don't have to keep buying shelves to house all the reading material.

    1. I would try to get into ebooks, I know it will lower the space from buying too many books. XD

  6. Books! I'm definitely addicted to books. It's a good think for Kindle, or my house might look like that picture!

    1. I've been thinking about buying a kindle myself to dwindle down on space, because I believe that I could become another Yomiko the way I buy books. XD

  7. That would be a scary amount of books!
We have eight or nine bookshelves at our house and I can't even tell you how many books on my iPad. Is that hoarding?

    1. It sure is!
Haha, no...I wouldn't say it's hoarding. You just have a love for books as we all do! However, I think it may be a problem when your house is covered in books and you can barely see the floor or your furniture...then I would say that is hoarding. XD
