Have you ever
stared at the computer screen with your mind completely blank? I have…and it’s
currently happening. I can discuss many topics on my blog. Yet, at times, it’s
difficult for me to create an entry worth reading. Sometimes, I censor myself.
Not in a way that I would say anything bad, but what I mean by “censor” is that
I don’t really say what I want to. I do write for myself, but I also write for
my readers (regardless if you are a silent reader or not.)
In the
beginning, I didn’t know what type of blogger I wanted to be. Should I blog
about books? Anime? Manga? Music? Movies? Fashion? Or should I do reviews? I
didn’t really know. I tried blogging about all of those subjects. I even had
made a fashion blog, anime/manga reviewing blog and an author’s blog. I deleted
the fashion blog and made my anime/manga and author’s blog private. I eventually
decided to stick with talking about books on this blog because I noticed the
book blogging community was quite large. I figured that I could meet friends,
gather new readers, followers, and bond over books.
The only thing
about this was that, although I do like books, blogging about them isn’t for
me. Not only that, it’s very hard for me to comment on other people’s blog. I’m
not saying that I don’t at all, because I do, but it’s extremely rare. I don’t
really mind it if people don’t comment my blog (I’ll admit, in the beginning I
did because I wanted a lot of people to notice my blog), but if people do take their time to comment
it does make me happy. From now on, I think it’s best if I stick with writing
whatever I want, which makes me a lifestyle blogger.

The choices are
endless. I wanted to let everyone know that from now on, I won’t blog much
about books. The reason why, is because I always felt that I was forcing myself
to be a part of a community that I’m not very active in. If you have noticed, I
rarely talk about my novel as much and when I do it’s very brief and vague. It’s
not intentionally, it’s just that I feel more comfortable not talking about it
as much. As a writer, especially a self-published writer, it is good to create
a buzz, but I don’t like talking about my novel during its W.I.P process. When
I do talk about my novella, it will be when it’s completed and ready to be
submitted to a publisher.
Anyhow, for
those people that is currently reading this, thank you for sticking around. I
will continue to be a blogger, despite my constant late updates. ^^;
This has nothing to do with this entry, but I find it funny. Haha. |
Glad you'll still be blogging. Write about what is best for you. Never force yourself, blogging is already free. You don't need free stress, just stress fee fun.
