Filles Vertes Publishing Updates + Too Much Planning

Let's face the facts people; I'm not good with schedules. I've tried time and time before, and the end result is never a good one. If it's not having a hard time keeping up with the schedule, it's my personal life that gets in the way and blogging just happens to be the last thing on my mind, unfortunately.

With that said, I'm no longer going to do the schedule thing. I was very confident about it in the beginning, but I have to be realistic when it comes to my own blogging ways.

ONTO OTHER NEWS

Filles Vertes Publishing, LLC

If you remember, I stated a few entries back that I'm interning with Filles Vertes Publishing, LLC. I'm a part of the editorial team and street team, which is the promotional side of publishing. I really enjoy being an intern with FVP and because it's a new publisher, we've been trying to spread the word about it and even had a successful launch party!

To be truthfully honest, I feel that FVP will be a successful publisher once more people discover this small press. Of course, I'm not just saying this because I'm an intern, but because I feel like FVP will soar high.

In case anyone is curious about what FVP is looking for, look no further! The FVP are looking for various genres including the following:

  • Nonfiction (of all genres)
  • Memoirs
  • Essays
  • Adult Fiction
  • Humorous Cookbooks
  • Middle Grade
  • Young Adult
  • Diversity/Own Voices

That's just to name a few. If you're interested in learning more about FVP, I would highly suggest you take a trip to their Facebook page and check it out!

Now, let's talk about me outlining ATTICUS...

I've been outlining ATTICUS for the past couple of weeks now. I'm the type of person that doesn't mind outlining, but when I plan too much I become burned out by the time I reach the actual manuscript process. It tends to happen almost 70% of the time, which would explain why I have so many unfinished novels.

I have a pretty basic idea what direction ATTICUS will go. If I continue planning the story, I'm pretty sure where I would end up and I don't want to go down that route anytime soon (or any more for that matter).

That's it for today and I hope everyone has a good weekend~!
