Where Art Thou, Atticus

I've been working on a title called, Atticus. It is by far the hardest story I've ever attempted to write. The ideas are there, but it's forming those ideas into chapters is what makes things difficult. For the past couple of weeks I haven't been working on Atticus or Hell Hounds. I could blame it on work, but when you get off every day at 2pm and don't work on Friday and Saturday's, there shouldn't be any excuses made. The only thing I can say is it's just me being a procrastinator as usual.

I really wanted to finish one of these novels by May or sometimes in May, but I highly doubt that will happen with the rate I'm moving. Sometimes being in the mood to write doesn't do justice and it may be better to write just a sentence, even if you aren't in the mood to write anything. I should start adding additional words to Atticus now, just to say I accomplished something with it, lol.

When it comes to Hell Hounds, I already had more chapters than Atiicus, but it takes me forever to send the chapters to my beta reader. I could have sent her chapter 4 last week, but I never did. Speaking of which, I'll do so after publishing this blog entry.

Originally, I planned on focusing on Hell Hounds only and Atticus much later. Atticus was like a here and there sort of novel. I wasn't working on it often and wasn't focused on it at all. However, as of a few months ago I decided to work on it a bit more because I decided I wanted to seek a literary agent for it.

Hopefully one day Atticus will be sold in bookstores worldwide! It is a dream that I will make a reality...but being a procrastinator is something I have to work on if I want to accomplish this goal.

  1. Try just writing 300 words a day. When I had a lot of issues with writing a particular manuscript I saw a fellow blogger suggest this as she was busy with her daughter. No kids on my end but it worked! I have a ten thousand word manuscript sitting on break in less time than when I hardly had a thousand words for over a month. Sometimes writing a lot seems daunting so try writing a little. I'm both a pantser and a procrastinator so I feel your pain. Best of luck Brit and I'll be ready to buy myself a copy of your book when it's published.

    I believe in you. :)

    1. Thank you very much for the encouraging words! I actually just updated my blog about me being somewhat of a procrastinator and the process of how I am with my writing, which explains why I have so many unfinished novels. I will try out that 300 words per day and see how it works out for me, especially on those days when writers block decides to strike, lol.

Thank you once again and I can't wait to read your book when it's published as well! :)
