Do You Have Goals - February 2016

Aside from not updating my blog as much lately, I should start off by saying that I haven't really been working too much on accomplishing my goals for this month. I did however managed to finish reading 1 out of the 10 books that I wanted to finish before the end of this year. That book was actually like a middle grade book by Haruki Murakami. Yes, I was reading a middle grade book, but I'm a huge fan of Murakami and couldn't resist purchasing it when I discovered it. The title is called, "The Strange Library." It's sort of like a picture book as well. Very interesting. I would suggest looking it up whenever you have a chance.

When it comes to revising NIGHTMARE CHRONICLES, I have worked managed to revise chapter 5. I left off on chapter 6 weeks ago. It was mostly because I was so busy, but now that I have a new job I will have more time to work on it.

I suppose also when it comes to the list of goals that I would like to accomplish before the end of this year is becoming more active in social media. I've said this repeatedly over the years, I'm not very good at commenting on other people's blogs. Sometimes I'll start off very strong with commenting, but then somewhere along the way I fall short and just start becoming a lurk reader.

I know she's reading a book, but let's visualize that book as a laptop/desktop lol
Either way, it's something that I know I have to get better at because I would like to interact more with the people apart of the blogging community.

Well, that about sums up my last Friday! I hope everyone is doing well with their goals. I'm sure by next month I will have more accomplished compared to this month, lol. Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. It's never a bad thing to take a bit of a break now and again. It gives us the opportunity to sit back and reassess our goals, which is always important. Good luck for March!

    1. I'm thinking that I may take a break from NIGHTMARE CHRONICLES for a while, but I'll be working on my other goals. Thank you for commenting! I'll check out your blog. :)

  2. We can't work at breakneck speed all the time. There is a time to slow down a little and explore life away from the computer/notebook. I try to keep to achievable goals. Reading is something I always achieve!!

    1. That's true. Speaking of reading, I have to start reading a second book for my goal list. There are a lot of books I have to choose from, but that's when it gets hard to decide on which one to read next, lol.

  4. I think it's good to take a break when you're under stress. All that happens to me when I stress about writing is I write even less.

    Best of luck with March!

    1. Too much stress can be a distraction. I haven't had much distraction lately, more so procrastination though, which is still bad. I'll get better for this month. Then again I have until December, so I'm good for now, lol.

Best of luck to you as well!

  5. It can take a bit of courage to comment on other people's blogs. But it's worth doing it. Everybody who takes the time to blog would like to know that other people are reading their posts, and you're right, it's a great way to make new contacts. Writing can be a lonely world :)

    1. I want to comment more often, it's just something that I have to put effort in. It is a great way to network and meet new people. Writing can be a lonely work, unfortunately.

I'm pretty much the same. Bad, bad habit that I need to break. It's all about baby steps (especially where social media is concerned for me -- not very social IRL ^^;;).

    1. Haha, I'm not very social in real life either. It is all about baby steps, because for people that aren't very social (like us ^^;; lol) we cannot just dive into the water when we don't know how to swim yet, lol. In due time we'll get where we want to be :)
